What does File Recovery do?

• Open up BoostSpeed and go to All Tools.
• Locate File Recovery and click the tool.
• Now, you will be able to search for deleted files that can still be recovered. You will have several options here:
• You can run a general search and look for ALL the deleted files that can be restored.
• Alternatively, you can narrow the search criteria to accelerate the process of locating the file you need to get back: set the type of file you want to search for, its last modification date, its full or partial name, etc. You can also set the file types you want to be skipped during the search.
• There is also an option to run a Deep scan. This will help you bring back even more files — but the process itself will be significantly slower: it may take longer than an hour, sometimes upwards of two hours.

Tip: it’s probably a good idea to start with a regular scan first. If it doesn’t turn up the files that you’ve been looking for, you can move on to the Deep scan option, which will do a more thorough search.

• When the search completes, you will see a list of all deleted files that match your search criteria and that can still be recovered.
• There is a Preview pane that shows a preview of the file you have selected from the list (some files, like audio or .exe files, understandably, cannot be previewed).
• To recover the needed files, simply check the boxes next to the file names and click “Recover selected” above the list.
• You will be able to select the location that you want to recover your file(s) to and choose whether you want to restore the structure of the files being recovered (place them in the folders they were in prior to deletion).
• And there you go — you can now go to the location that you have chosen to recover the file to and find it there.
